Kia's 2026 hybrid lineup covers four distinct vehicle types: a compact crossover, a mid-size SUV, a three-row SUV, and a full-size family van. Each uses a different version of the hybrid powertrain and serves a different kind of driver — but they all share the same goal of reducing fuel consumption compared to their gas-only equivalents. If fuel economy is your primary consideration, here is...
We will be entitled to a new Sorento for 2021 when a new generation of the model is eagerly awaited. Kia proceeded to the presentation of its all-new 2021 Sorento a few weeks ago and several elements caught our attention. Here are three of them.
1 - The Telluride recipe
The Telluride SUV has been with us for two years. It's been two years since it's been winning awards wherever it's been judged. With this SUV, Kia has delivered its best product ever. The good news is that they've applied the Telluride recipe to the new Sorento. It's visible in style, but it's also visible in quality. When you look inside, you can see that we're taking a giant step forward with a quality presentation, both aesthetically and in terms of richness.
2- New powertrains
The two engines that powered the Sorento, a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder and a 3.3-liter V6, are gone. They are replaced by two 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engines. The first is naturally aspirated and offers 191 horsepower and 182 lb-ft of torque. The second is turbocharged and pushes 281 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. In both cases, fuel economy is improved. Better yet, hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions will be available later in the model year. Like all other Sorentos, they'll benefit from all-wheel drive. In all cases, the transmission is automatic and has eight speeds.
3 - A new variant
A new model will make its debut this year, the X-Line version. It will offer a more robust, more aggressive style. It will also benefit from a higher ground clearance and will be equipped with captain's chair in the second row. It will come in third place in the version range, after the LX+ and LX Premium models. It will also serve as a gateway to the turbo engine, which will also be the one delivered as standard with the three other versions, namely EX, EX+ and SX.
