Kia's 2026 hybrid lineup covers four distinct vehicle types: a compact crossover, a mid-size SUV, a three-row SUV, and a full-size family van. Each uses a different version of the hybrid powertrain and serves a different kind of driver — but they all share the same goal of reducing fuel consumption compared to their gas-only equivalents. If fuel economy is your primary consideration, here is...
The Hyundai-Kia group is offering us more and more interesting vehicles, so much so that we've even gotten to the point of comparing some of them to see which ones are best suited to your needs. In attendance here is the Hyundai Palisade, a model that debuted in 2019 as a 2020 model.
Everywhere it has gone, it has impressed. However, it may not be for you. If so, Kia offers an interesting alternative with the Sorento, completely redesigned for 2021.
Let's take a look at four things that make the Sorento stand out from its cousin, the Palisade. If you recognize yourself in the following arguments, you need a Sorento.
Younger look: the Palisade's styling is very successful, even daring. However, it's more classic, especially inside. With the Sorento, we also hit a home run with the exterior design, but we've revitalized the interior with a modern, youthful and edgy presentation, especially with air vents that are easy on the eyes.
Fuel economy: The Palisade relies on a V6 engine to power itself. It does a good job and is reasonable at the pump, but it can't compete with the Sorento's turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, which offers a little more power (combined horsepower and torque), but more importantly, a better fuel economy rating (9.9 liters vs. 11.1 in the combined city/highway).
Off-road capabilities: while both models can venture off-road, the Sorento offers a version that's more capable of doing so, the X-Line. In addition to offering 20-inch alloy wheels and second-row captain's chairs, it comes with sportier styling and, more importantly, a higher ground clearance (two inches).
Driving pleasure: behind the wheel of the Palisade, you're rocked. The comfort level is really optimal. However, boredom lurks, as you're looking for driving sensations. That's fine for many, but if you like to feel in full control of a vehicle and have the chance to drive it in a sportier way, you're not at the right place at Hyundai.
The Sorento, on the other hand, offers you all the comfort you could want, plus a very stiff chassis that allows you to attack the road with confidence. You'll feel like you're behind the wheel of a car with this SUV.
To find out for yourself, don't hesitate to book a road test to discover the model a little closer. You too will fall in love with it.
