The top-tier X-Line trim takes the 2026 Kia Seltos in a bold visual direction. While the standard Seltos models focus on clean, approachable styling, the X-Line adds elements that give the compact SUV a more assertive road presence. These design changes work together to create a cohesive look that stands out from typical family-oriented vehicles. The X-Line trim builds on the regular Seltos...

Usually, we compare two vehicles when we want to show the superiority of one over the other. Sometimes, one model is so dominant that it can be compared to two others at the same time.
Such is the case with the 2023 Kia Seltos, a product that has done nothing but impress everyone who messes with it since its debut in 2020.
Let's see how it measures up against two other popular models like the Hyundai Kona and the Nissan Qashqai. You'll realize that overall, it wins hands down.
The powertrain
Since the Kia Seltos and the Hyundai Kona belong to the same family, they are equal under the hood with the same proposals. However, the Qashqai can't say the same thing, as it's only offered with a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine that offers 141 horsepower and 147 lb-ft of torque.
The Seltos comes with a similar powertrain, but with a turbocharged engine offering 175 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. There's simply more choice at Kia, especially since the organs suggested are more modern, to boot. The Qashqai is an aging product.
Interior space
Where the Nissan model can compete with the Seltos is with its interior volume. Behind the second row of seats, there's a volume of 648 liters. When the second row is folded down, it increases to 1,730 liters, which is very good. The Seltos does better, by the way, with 752 and 1778 liters, respectively.
So it still has the advantage over the other two, because the Kona lags behind with 544 and 1296 liters.
This is also reflected in the second row. You can breathe in a Seltos while the comfort is just right with the Qashqai, primary with the Kona.
The technology
Technology is evolving rapidly across the industry, so the year a model is introduced has an effect on what's on the menu. The Qashqai was introduced for 2017 here, but it had been driving in Europe as is since 2013. The Kona, meanwhile, debuted in 2018, which is better. In the case of the Seltos, with a model introduced in 2020 as a 2021 product, we're really on the cutting edge in all respects, whether it's with the multimedia system's screen and menus, USB ports, connectivity, usability, etc.
Finally, one last point, briefly. The Kona is more compact and its handling is a bit more rustic. The Qashqai offers more comfort, but its running gear is lazy when pushed. With the Seltos, you get the perfect compromise while balance dominates the experience. Take it for a test drive and you'll see for yourself.
