Kia's 2026 hybrid lineup covers four distinct vehicle types: a compact crossover, a mid-size SUV, a three-row SUV, and a full-size family van. Each uses a different version of the hybrid powertrain and serves a different kind of driver — but they all share the same goal of reducing fuel consumption compared to their gas-only equivalents. The Kia Forte has just been redesigned for 2022 in order to offer a more modern look and all of the latest technologies. This makeover made it even more competitive against the other sub-compact sedans, such as the Mazda 3
Better practicality
The 2022 Kia Forte is more practical than the Mazda 3 since it offers more interior and trunk space, despite being physically smaller. Indeed, the Forte is 20mm shorter than the Mazda 3 and 10mm lower, but it offers more interior space in almost every measure. For example, the Forte’s front headroom is 21mm bigger than the maximum space available in the Mazda, its rear headroom is slightly bigger as well and both its front and rear shoulder room are much more generous than the Mazda 3. The Kia Forte’s trunk is also larger than the Mazda’s, with 433 liters versus just 374 liters. This additional space makes the 2022 Kia Forte more practical and more comfortable than the Mazda 3.
A better value
The 2022 Kia Forte remains one of the best value propositions in its segment since it offers many standard features that are either optional or even unavailable on the competition and it retains a very low MSRP. The Forte comes standard with a height adjustable passenger seat, heated front seats, an 8-inch infotainment screen, cruise control, Apple Car Play and Android Auto, all for a base price lower than the Mazda’s by more than $4,500. The higher trims of the Forte are also available with many features that are not even offered on the Mazda 3, like the heated rear seats or the ventilated front seats and the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, which improves the performances of the GT Limited model. This is despite a maximum MSRP that is close to $9,000 lower than the most expensive version of the Mazda 3.
