Kia's 2026 hybrid lineup covers four distinct vehicle types: a compact crossover, a mid-size SUV, a three-row SUV, and a full-size family van. Each uses a different version of the hybrid powertrain and serves a different kind of driver — but they all share the same goal of reducing fuel consumption compared to their gas-only equivalents. If fuel economy is your primary consideration, here is...
For Kia, the new year is off to a great start with the arrival of new models, including the 2021 K5 sedan. The 2021 K5 sedan, which is the natural evolution of the former Optima, comes with a sleek design and an enviable technical specification.
Let's see how Kia presents it to us by taking a look at the versions that have been brought to us.
LX
The entry-level version of the Kia K5 is the LX. It is offered with a 1.6-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged engine pushing 180 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. A new eight-speed transmission is responsible for sending power to the wheels.
In terms of equipment, this model is well served. The exterior, for instance, is shown off with 16-inch alloy wheels to best effect. Inside, equipment includes heated front seats, compatibility with the must-have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto applications, keyless entry and push-button start.
Then, when it comes to safety, you're spoiled right from the start with Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assistance, Frontal Collision Warning, Frontal Collision Avoidance Assistance, and a device that monitors driver attention levels.
EX
For its part, the EX version, still equipped with the same engine, comes with 18-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof and a heated windshield. On board, you can recharge your cell phone by induction and, while driving, you can enjoy the safety offered by an adaptive cruise control system. The standard safety package also includes Collision Avoidance Assist at Intersections, which alerts you to oncoming traffic at intersections.
GT Line
The same 4-cylinder engine is still under the hood of the GT Line version, but on board, the experience is more elevated with a 10.25-inch screen for the multimedia system (8-inch with the base versions), navigation, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, safe exit warning and memory for the driver's position.
GT
Finally, by choosing the GT model, you get the ultimate. First of all, the equipment includes everything we've just described, plus sports seats, head-up display, and a higher quality Bose audio system. On the outside, the model stands out with beautiful 19-inch alloy wheels and a dual exhaust system in the rear.
All of this serves to herald the increased capabilities of the model, which benefits from the work of a 2.5-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder in front, a powerplant that offers 290 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque for significantly better performance. The transmission is automatic and also features eight gears.
To get a close-up look at the K5 and understand how exceptional this car is in every way, a test drive is a must.
