Powertrain and Efficiency
The 2025 Carnival Hybrid features a 1.6L turbocharged engine paired with an electric motor, delivering a combined output of 242 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain is coupled with a 6-speed automatic transmission and includes a 54kW drive motor, which Kia notes is the highest output among their hybrid models.

David Sherrard, Director of Strategic Planning at Kia Canada, commented on the new model: "The Carnival truly is the perfect life utility vehicle to meet the needs of any family. This 2025 model year specifically is robust with options and flexibility, be it seating configuration, convenience, safety features and now the introduction of a hybrid powertrain."
