Kia's 2026 hybrid lineup covers four distinct vehicle types: a compact crossover, a mid-size SUV, a three-row SUV, and a full-size family van. Each uses a different version of the hybrid powertrain and serves a different kind of driver — but they all share the same goal of reducing fuel consumption compared to their gas-only equivalents. Kia Canada has announced the prices for its new 2025 K4 compact sedan, which will be available at Canadian dealerships in October. The K4 marks Kia's entry into the compact sedan segment with a range of innovative features and technologies.
The 2025 Kia K4 comes in five versions, priced as follows:
- LX IVT: $23,995
- EX IVT: $26,495
- EX+ IVT: $27,995
- GT-Line Turbo: $31,495
- GT-Line Turbo Limited: $34,495
David Sherrard, Director of Strategic Planning at Kia Canada, emphasized the K4's position in the market, stating, "The K4 sets a new benchmark in the compact car segment with inspiring design, meaningful standard features, as well as plenty of technology to meet the needs of many."
The K4 comes equipped with an impressive array of standard features, including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) such as Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep Assist, and Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go. Additionally, all models feature a 12.3-inch multi-display, LED headlamps, smart key with push-button start, and Kia Connect with over-the-air update capabilities.
Two powertrain options are available for the front-wheel-drive K4. The standard 2.0-litre engine produces 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque, paired with an intelligently variable transmission (IVT). This configuration offers impressive fuel economy, with ratings of 7.9/5.8/7.0 litres/100km for city/highway/combined driving.
The GT-Line models offer a more powerful option with a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine. It produces 190 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. These versions also use a multi-link rear suspension to improve handling.
The K4's exterior design showcases Kia's "Opposites United" design language, featuring vertically oriented LED headlights and taillights inspired by the flagship EV9. With an overall length of 4709mm and width of 1849mm, the K4 boasts the largest footprint in its segment, offering ample interior space, particularly for rear passengers.
Inside, the K4 raises the bar for the compact sedan segment with its nearly 30-inch digital instrumentation display, a first in its class. The interior also includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility as standard, with higher trims offering additional luxuries such as a Harman Kardon premium audio system and heated steering wheel.
Safety is a priority in the K4, with eight airbags standard across all models. Higher trims offer advanced driver assistance technologies, including Forward Collision Avoidance 2, Evasive Steering Assist, and Highway Driving Assist 2.
Kia plans to expand the K4's digital features and services through the Kia Connect Store, accessible via the Kia Connect App or Portal. This will allow for future enhancements and updates to be delivered over-the-air, ensuring the K4 remains at the forefront of automotive technology.
The 2025 Kia K4 is available for pre-order, with deliveries expected to begin next month.
