Kia's 2026 hybrid lineup covers four distinct vehicle types: a compact crossover, a mid-size SUV, a three-row SUV, and a full-size family van. Each uses a different version of the hybrid powertrain and serves a different kind of driver — but they all share the same goal of reducing fuel consumption compared to their gas-only equivalents. Kia is ahead for the game at the moment. It manufactures the best, most affordable and most advanced electric vehicles around thanks to superior engineering techniques and craftsmanship. But beyond performance and technology, reliability is a big challenge in the industry at the moment. And the Korean manufacturer’s efforts have paid off.
Consumer Reports has released its reliability data on 2022 electric-vehicle models and came up with a top 10 of most reliable EVs on the market. The firm conducts auto surveys throughout the year where it collects information from hundreds of thousands of vehicle owners identifying problems that they consider serious because of cost, failure, safety or downtime.
The Kia Niro delivers outstanding versatility
On top of being the most reliable, the Kia Niro EV is also very safe. The NHTSA gave the Niro five stars on its crash tests. It comes with standard safety equipment such as forward collision warning (FCW), automatic emergency braking (AEB), blind spot warning (BSW), and rear cross-traffic warning (RCTW).
In terms of versatility, the Niro EV is s great travel partner with 645 litres of cargo volume when it is full of passengers and 1,897 litres when the rear seats are folded down.
The Kia Niro provides top performance
The Niro EV is more reliable than every rival in the segment thanks, in part, to its powertrain. The 2022 model is powered by 201 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque motor fed by a 64-kWh battery. It is rated for 385 kilometres of range, which is plenty of distance for short and long trips.
For 2023, the Kia Niro has received a series of physical, technological and mechanical enhancements that aim at keeping it at the top. It now provides over 400 kilometres of range and an upgraded, premium exterior style, among other enhancements.
The Niro charges ahead and, according to Consumer Report, is more reliable than the Chevrolet Bolt, the Nissan Leaf and the Tesla Model 3. Come see the Niro EV, and the full Niro lineup today!
